My husband and I relocated to North Carolina due to a huge development going in behind our beloved home of 16 years where we use to have privacy and woods. It was a difficult decision, for I had 45 wonderful students. Since Covid, we all learned how to conduct business online, and so after Covid, I opened my doors back for students to come in person, but anytime a student was sick, or the weather was bad, or if it was just more convenient for the parent to stay home that day, I still offered online lessons when in need. Now that I have relocated to North Carolina, I have 33 Missouri students who are remaining with me online. Piano Guild and Music Federation Club is allowing me to still enter my Missouri students in the program and they can still perform live. I am blessed to have so many supportive and wonderful students and families to remain with me online while I continue to get local North Carolina students as well. I was a regular and preferred musician at Springfield, Missouri's Highland Springs Country Club's Sunday Brunch, and the musician for Hickory Hills Country Club's Holiday dinners. I was also the Top Performer on the Gigsalad site in the Springfield, Missouri region, so giving all of this up was difficult. But we need peace and the new development going on behind our house was not giving us peace.
We love North Carolina where we bought an old historical farmhouse with 3 acres and in the country. My husband is going to continue to garden but this time for a career. Our last house only had .05 acres, so his gardening was more of a hobby and provided wonderfully for us. Now he wants to provide to the community.
I am going to continue to teach online and in person, and to gig. I have just recently purchased my new business card and will hit the streets soon in getting out my business card to more wedding venues here locally, country clubs, churches, schools, funerals, and wherever else I can send them.
